Jan began riding at the age of eight and has had a passion for horses and trail riding ever since. She has ridden across Michigan three times, completing her first Shore to Shore ride when just eleven years old. Those experiences helped shape Jan’s deep appreciation for Michigan’s incredible equestrian trail system. Since 2024, Jan has proudly served as Secretary for the Michigan Trail Riders Association. She enjoys camping and trail riding with her horse and young son, creating the same kinds of memories on the trail that inspired her as a child. Jan is committed to promoting, protecting, and maintaining Michigan’s horse trails and horse camps, including the historic Shore to Shore Trail, to ensure they remain accessible and thriving for future generations.
