Large Animal Emergency Resources
The Michigan Horse Trails Association believes that having trained and equipped Large Animal Emergency Rescue teams is important for the state of Michigan. Two LAER clinics were held in Michigan in 2024 with plans to continue the trainings. The purpose of this page is to provide information regarding the benefit of having trained and equipped Large Animal Emergency Rescue teams in our communities and to share information which will be helpful to trained LAER teams. We encourage community first responders and livestock owners to attend available trainings and provide the resources for training events. We will inform the livestock community and emergency responders where teams are located within the State of Michigan and provide community members with resources for personal pet and livestock disaster preparedness.
